DJ_WillzParticipantHey people,
This has been buggin me for years its a track called "Take Me Away".
Its been released in the old-skool hardore market as Jimmy J & Cru l t – Take Me Away and in the dance market as Mix Factory – Take Me Away. Both tracks use the sample vocal and sample. It sounds like its not 100% original to either track and sounds lifted from an old track.
The Mix Factory Version is released on aatw heres a link to the audio:
The Jimmy J & Cru L T version was realesed on Kniteforce. Audio for this:
Any help is greatly appreciated!

DJ ValParticipantSounds like it could be Novaspace (2002) it was also done by 4 Strings. Not quite sure which original track the vocals are taken from. Will do a little bit more research. I take it you need to no who did the orginal to Take Me Away.

DJ LevantParticipantI was wondering the same thing when I heard the Jimmy J & Cru l t version a long time back. I think the hardcore remake was released on vinyl in 1994.
Val I don’t think its the same track of ‘Take Me Away (Into the Night)’ re-released by 4 Strings.According to Wikipedia…
"Jimmy J & Cru-L-T found success in the hardcore scene with the high sales of their tunes Take Me Away and Six Days which both sampled house tracks but reworked the vocals with piano riffs written by the hardcore duo."

Yeah Levant you’re right. I should’ve listened to the track first instead of using my memory (which is a diminishing source at the mo
). Upon actually listening to the 4 Strings track and the Mixfactory, they are different tracks altogether
, soz.
The Porn Kings also did a version with Mixfactory.AdSense 336x280November 23, 2006 at 12:12 pm #603897

So does anyone know wether there’s an acapella go around for this? (this is not a request, it’s just a question).

siriusParticipant[quote quote="nickp":186s4l4s]True Faith with Final Cut AKA The Pinup girls = Take me away – Pinned Up Mix – 1989/1991 – Network Records = NWKT20 – all mixes since this dont even come close – this tune still rocks any party 15 years on. Brigett Grace sings.

Mix Factory – Take Me Away isnt the same vocal as True Faith Take Me Away…….but I think you knew that
.
Im a retro head, real piano house ex raver, into my High Givers, Vision Masters, Shades of Rhythm, Dream Frequency, Together, Love Decade, 2 For Joy, etc etc.
Dont make much music thesedays, cos I pretty useless at it when it comes to modern music and cubase etc. Just got myself Cubase Sx3 to try and learn (been using Reason) and if anything most things Ive done have been trying to suss out chords from the ‘old days’. Good fun.
Regarding Pin Up Girls/True Faith, have you heard the Jay Mondi version?, thats pretty classic. Then theres "Sweet Mercy", another remix of it……..
As for the other tune, I believe Mix Factory were behind that vocal originally. Released on AATW in nearby Blackburn in Lancashire about 1991. Im not sure if there is a pella on it, but I vaguely remember one of the mixes having an intro-pella before it kicks off.
Sirius.

beekirParticipantI believe the original singer is Bridget Grace (sometimes incorrectly spelled "Bridgett Grace") – I’m on the search for a digital copy, if I can’t find it I may try to rip my own from vinyl.
