Hi.
WykydMystic here… name inspired by songs by Annihilator (Wicked Mystic) and 3 Inches of Blood (Wykydtron). Metal bands
Which explains my interest in dubstep… i guess? Has anyone else noticed the similarities between dubstep and all the "core" genres, ie. hardcore, metalcore, and deathcore? I’m not really saying anything profound am i? Am i asking a lot of questions? Not that that matters, you’ll just read this and do nothing and quiet honestly i just want posts so i can get the extra crap. Buuuuuuuuuut if anyone does care enough to respond is there a way to get really good sounding dubstep noises without blowing $500 or how ever much on NI Massive?

Hello Mystic!

The same as you ,I really feel a metal /death metal "feeling" in some dubstep sound! But not in all!Mainly in Skrillex musics I think.
A friend of mine who likes rock said that dubstep for him is similar in some aspectos to Grunge ,but i dont know what is Grunge and if i’ve already heard i dunno…

Here an example of music that,for me myself, is a dubstep(i dont know if this is just pure techno) but there’s no "metal feeling" :
