AJ121remixParticipantI just recently got into DIY extraction, so I figured why not share my methods/get some other tips from other people & help everyone out.
My methods so far are as follows [All in either Audacity or Adobe Audition 1.5]:
Noise removal (Built-in to audacity)
Extracting the center channel (Rarely works)
Vocal Remover (Built-in to audacity) [Works by removing/retaining certain frequency bands]
Finding an instrumental/inverting it with the original song on another track
VoiceTrap 2.0 (VST) [Non-free]
Knockout (VST) [Free]
Elevayta Extra Boy Pro (VST) [Non-free] {Works WONDERS with little work!! haha}
And the occasional equalizer to put emphasis on the vocal frequencies.How about your methods?

Tion LineParticipantAs already said somewhere else here, i highly recommend the Vocal Remover (not the Karaoke Effect) from audacity. It mostly works better (on stereo tracks) than any other method I tested.
Usually I create a instrumental with the Vocal Remover and then use knockout in FL to remove the karaoke from the original track. It doesn’t always work well but I already got some good results. (I just sometimes had to make a few adjustments with an equalizer, usually remove the low frequencies)
However it’s mostly better than just remove the center channel (i already made a complex built to remove each channel from it’s related channel but that just ~halved the instrumental volume… quite nice effect but not actually not a proper acapella^^)What is not a good idea (although you read it quite often in forums) is to rearrange an instrumental because first you don’t know all the details of the song and second you won’t get the same sounds/samples so i wonder if it would have any removing effect…
However I’m curious if anyone has a better method and would share it with us (what would obviously also mean with me
