Creating Music, The Basics

Firstly, Hi!!

I’ve been a self taught guitarist for around 3 years now (well 2 years seriously playing) and I’ve recently invested in a MIDI keyboard (Oxygen so I can start creating music digitally, and hopefully meet in the middle somewhere and compliment my guitar playing with drum beats etc.

I’m also into just about any type of music (except dub step Im sorry xD) and would like to start creating my own hip hop and electro songs. But unfortunately I have no real music knowledge when it comes in depth music theory, i know your basic BPMs and tempo/pitch etc but when it comes to beats, bars generally just getting things to match musically I haven’t a clue

So if anyone could direct me to a website or anykind of free knowledgebase which starts with the basics etc I’d be really appreciative (I would ask you guys but I have a suspicion I may end up with random tidbits of info and end up being more confused than I am now)
