When I work with the KnockOut filter in Audacity, I’ve discovered two bugs – that I’ve found workarounds for!
1. When the tracks are perfectly in line and ready to KnockOut, mark the desired part from RIGHT to LEFT. Also, avoid marking the entire tracks – make sure you have some margin in both end and start. Then KnockOut!
2. When (hopefully) succeeded you will discover that every eleventh second has a short silent gap. What to do here, is to make a copy of the track before knocking out, and then knock both separatedly out with slightly displaced region. When both tracks are played together, the copy covers up for silence in the original and vice versa.
Good luck with your diy acapellas!
