Re: BIG Post: Production Tips And TechniquesA couple more musically minded tips for you guys:
(Oh and by keyboard, I mean piano keyboard) 1. When in doubt, spam the black keys: Not really sure what the technical term for it is, but basically it's a universally acknowledged rule. If you play nothing but the black keys on your keyboard, it'll sound amazing. 2. If rule one fails, just play keys that are really close to each other: This one, I know the name for. It's called the Chromatic scale. A quick bit of music theory for those that know nothing: A semitone is the space between two immediately adjecent keys on your keyboard (E.g. a white key and the black key immediately next to it or two white keys with no black key in between them) Basically, the more of these you play in sequence, the darker your riff will sound. You can get some seriously cool stuff out of the chromatic scale. Just know that it'll be really difficult to get harmonies out of it.
Re: BIG Post: Production Tips And TechniquesVery helpful!
