Stormer13Participantreally i hate ableton, everybody who uses these looks like a douche to me because they are not actually mixing, you might as well be pressing play and walking away.

Stormer13ParticipantThis is a DJ gear question so I think this is the right forum. I just stumbled across the Akai Ableton APC 40 controller. I was wondering if anyway owns this wonderful piece of equipment and if they could tell me if they like it or not?

DjOldskoolParticipantOne of my fellow Dj friends recently brought one back from America, it’s awesome bit of kit, hope to start using it out live soon…

ghettosteezParticipantWhen I get enough money for a controller, I’m buying this one.

faberParticipantVery great piece of gear…essentially for live use…not properly for djing…i think it’s better vcm 600, but using dummy clips the apc40 too can be a good controller for djing

tommyh4161Participantit is an incredible.
but i would highly suggest getting live 8 for it because its pre mapped and it makes it so much easier. i used it for a show on october and i had no problems it. the creative possabilities are endless with this thing.

shallowalParticipantI’ve seen an APC 40 on US ebay cheaper than I can get in the UK. Does anyone know if the power supply will need to be changed or just the plug?
Thanks

keaney2023ParticipantI love mine, sold my decks to buy it and i think i’ve made the right choice. I use it out as a Dj and run it into 2 channels on the mixer so i can still get a DJ vibe, plus the mixer is more responsive, i’ve found the Akai is a bit sluggish if you want to chop the channels or cross fader due to it being digital… but definately a worth while purchase if your wanting to use Ableton or some other good software for music production and djing

uptheirons106ParticipantIt looks sooo tight. Makes me want to learn to DJ live and stuff… I love making my metal remixes and whatever, but that’s WAY different. Would be a lot of fun though.

RoobuxParticipantI was just ogling it myself – my local music shop just got in a bunch of APC 40’s and 20’s (The 20 doesn’t have the wonderfully tweakable knobs, just the faders and touchpad-buttony things, though it comes in at less than half the price of the 40)
Soon, one of them shall be mine. Just gotta decide which one.
