RebornIdentityParticipantI thought I’d mix things up a bit by using a full-on alt-rock backing for a change. Hope you like it.
– Frankmusik – 3 Little Words (acapella)
– 50 Foot Wave – Petal (instrumental + full version)Download it via:

acheadKeymasterI really like this. It’s a keeper for me.
Also, like g3rst, I didn’t know either track. But if you ask me, the Frankmusik acapella is definitely an improvement over 50 foot wave!

RebornIdentityParticipantHey, Gorilla – thanks for the feedback. I guess the howling fury of Kristin Hersh’s vocals on the 50 Foot Wave track can be an acquired taste, but it’s good to know you like my version.
Cheers

acheadKeymasteraw, now I feel like a musical wimp!
I feel somewhat compelled to point out that I could definitely go some 50 foot wave if was in the mood. I’ve only had the one listen, but it sounded a bit like "NIN" meets "Every Time I Die".Both bands should call and thank you. This mashup is getting noticed here and elsewhere, by folks like me who haven’t heard of either of them. If I get time I’ll check them out – but I wonder if I’ll be disappointed with Frankmusick’s original arrangement, since I liked yours first…

RebornIdentityParticipantIf I can usher a few listeners in the direction of either band, then I’m a happy man. The original Frankmusik track is much more electro than this but really damn good and well worth a listen – if there’s any justice in the music world, which let’s face it there’s not, he’ll be really big this year. I find 50 Foot Wave is a great band to crank up when life is driving me mad.
Thanks so much for the comments too – I really appreciate it.
Cheers

Gav[/quote:2161r7zh]I like Frankmusik n like urself find that people underrate him like some sort of Calvin Harris apprentice mini-me…. only Mr Frank hasn’t whored his ass around the music industry to all n sundry.. although I still like Calvin Harris, he’s getting big for his boots just cos he ponced about on a few Kylie Minogue tracks…
Haven’t heard of 50 Foot Wave but listened cos of Frankmusik n liked the electro-metalness.. and let’s face it… ANYTHING with growling wah-wah porn guitar on is rated!!!!
A nice listen

RebornIdentityParticipantThanks for popping by Reggie, and I’m glad you like the track. I know what you mean about Frankmusik – the music he’s producing is far more exciting than what Calvin Harris (who I also like a lot) is producing, and he’s a much better singer too. As good as his album might turn out to be though, he’s not likely to score a big hit with the attention he gets, which is a shame.
Cheers
