i prefer buying cds from stores because i like to read all the lyrics and liner notes from the bands

mp3 format is better cuz it is smaller and the quality is not that much compromised when you get a good bitrate

I vote for mp3 - if you're going to fiddle around with the tunes (which I do), you need them on a computer and to do that, a 256kbps or higher mp3 (or .wav, even) is really the only way to go. I can't hear a difference between that and a higher quality.

vinyl, simply beacuse i love the sound when the needle touch the record, especially on a huge soundsystem. then the question what sounds "best"? it´s just a matter of taste.

Had my first go with vinyl and yeah, I can see the attraction, but I still prefer CD/mp3. Much much more control over everything.

I prefer vinyl because I think the DJ and the vinyl belonges together (a bit nostalgic but vinyl roxx
 )

lossless digital formats all the way (wav, flac etc.)
the smaller mp3 files were usefull in the mid 90s, when a gigabyte of hard drive space cost 1000 times more than today, and the average internet speed was 1000 times slower. but technology has progressed since then, and these days squashing your music down to crappy sounding mp3s just to save a few poxy megabytes seems kinda cheap and stupid. Like buying the rough sandpapery toilet paper because the soft one costs a few pennies more.
