i know this has prob been asked be4 but what is a mash up is that like megamixing or something coz a hear people talking about all the time.
my version of mixing is get a ton of accapellas pictch them strech them and c what u cn do but iv no idea whar a mash up is. plz help |

This will get moved, as it's not a D+Z about Acas4u, but about Mashy peas. 
It is an ambiguous term used to describe two songs (or more) or elements of two or more separate songs to create a new version with the aim that they should feel like they should have been written together in the same room but under different direction with regards approach to production. For example, The Cutup Boys (they live around here) mixed Put Your Hands Up For Detroit... with... Pump Up The Volume. Those two compositions are soul mates as they sound so good together. |

i understand what is its just under a different name wer i live its called megamixing wer i am (i do know what they talkin about just need to get acoustumd to the terminoligy)

i think it's all down to locale in the UK what is classed as what, terminology end up getting lost in translation across the borders......

I always saw Megamixing as a combination of a number of tracks by the same artist to create a medley of the music. While a mash up is usually the vocal of one track combined with the music of another, invariably different styles.
Ok there are exceptions to this, very basic, discription. |
