voyager529ParticipantI like it, but it needs a bit of tweaking…
During the verses, the original mix of this song had a bit more reverb to it. It wasn’t a concert hall kind of reverb, but more like a delayed echo. This is missing here (although present in the chorus line), which may or may not be a good thing. I’m torn about it.
The chorus lines are off beat. The downbeat of each phrase is on the first held vowel (sOOOOOOmetimes / sOOOOOOOOund / lOOOOOOOuder / drUUUUUUUUmbeat). each seems just off enough to irk me and my OCDness about stuff being on beat.
I like the sounds you chose. They were a nice departure from the electric piano and synth sounds, but still balanced out to not be completely foreign. The original though had a hard four-to-the-floor kick on it, something decisively noticeable in this one.
Also, if you listen to the original of this song (and several others of the genre), you’ll hear that there’s a distinct ‘entrance point’ for each verse and chorus. Even if you listen to the instrumental, you can generally tell where the chorus line or verses would start. Typical ways of doing this are to remove the synths for a measure before they start, paired with a change up in the kick drum. A good example of this (regardless if you like the song) is "see you again" by Miley Cyrus. Take a quick listen to it and you’ll hear what I’m talking about.
It’s got potential, dude!!

sunParticipantyeh sometimes it’s pretty "hard" to sync the voice, and i thought it was good on this one, weird, it doesn’t feel offbeat for me but maybe i already listened to it too much
