Nice topic bigcon6409.

I don't think anyone can say any different than the Prodigy are without doubt the UK's all-time BEST dance act.. So much good ol' UK history to them. solid tunes everytime, great collabs, great off-shoot projects, wicked remixes, s**t-hot videos (We all remember the hype of their MTV vid release when it turned out to actually be a WOMAN - remember that one? Was it Smack My Bitch Up?

I saw them some time ago at Exeter University and it was awesome. Liam Howlett's one of my all time fav producers, I can relate to his sample-induced creations.

I see from their site they plan to play V2008 this year aswell!.

Regards,

Rich.

I'm going to see them this May at the Gatecrasher summer sound system. Should be great.

Chemical brothers are playing too.

Who? The Prodigy? Ah yes, I remember them, They were those jolly excitable young chaps that did that new fangled... Now what was it called again? Rave music, you say? Bingo! Yes, yes, its all coming back to me now...

They were frightfully good I do believe, many say they were pioneers. I remember the day I purchased the first album of their collection, it was called "Experience" and it was absolutely marvelous! One did hear they changed their musical direction and while one preffered their earlier works there have been a few recent peices that have been sublime. The wife and I are rather fond of sitting in our herb garden on a wonderful summers day, drinking a refreshing G&T and listening to the soothing melodies permiating from that which is called "Smack my Bitch Up" I do believe.

Anyway, I must dash. I have important business to attend to... Jeeves, would you be as kind to quietly bring the car around to the front and tell my dear wife I'm going on one of my business trips.... You haven't heard this from me old chap but my good pal Simmkins has informed me that theres a festival of 2008 virgins somewhere! Toodle-pip!

Note: Sorry, I have absolutely no idea where all that come from... I just found the above picture and thought whats the least likely kind of person to be talking about the Prodigy! Normal service is now resumed! Cheesy Grin

Seen them at the G-MEX in '97 (with support from The Foo Fighters) and the best place to be was at the back. The sub was unbelievable. It kicked in the back and came out the front. As the SMBU vid was banned they showed on the large screen as SMBU was the opener. The whole gig was mind blowing.

Seen them at Creamfields 2006. Even though it was outside the energy was fantastic. Not as good as indoors though.

For me, The Prodigy are one of a fantastic bunch from the early to mid nineties. Underworld, Leftfield, and The Chemicals are on a par with The Prodigy, and I feel it is Leftfield who have influenced dance music most out of those four.

Talking of The Prodigy's bass, Leftfield literally brought the roof down (ok, it was the plaster from the ceiling) onto the front of house console at the Brixton Academy. Nice.

The name rings a bell, but I can't recall if I've ever heard anything by them. I'm sure they must be good to elicit such high praise from y'all and now I feel like I'm missing out on something. I'll have to see if yourmusic.com has anything by 'em.

I've never seen them live but I have been told I MUST see them live. I prefer the 'Music for the Jilted Generation' out of all the albums.

One of my friends brother's keeps mentioning the time he was at Glastonbury (with his Oasis mates) and the Prodigy played a storming set. He says hundreds just left the Oasis performance and went to watch the Prodigy, even his friends. Must have been good. Or Oasis where simply bad. He says Oasis where good but the Prodigy where out of this world.

My brother is a metal head, and even he has said the Prodigy are exhilarating live. Much better than all the ones he has seen, and he now has respect for (what he says) computer boffins making music.

Hey jefpeace, have you search youtube for The Prodigy?
