jsetterfieldParticipantHey, I just got a new pair of monitor speakers which are really awesome but my computer isn’t really good enough to handle them… creates a lot of static. Whats a good soundcard with L and R channel outputs that isn’t outrageously expensive? Also is a new soundcard the best way to go or should I look into mixers or something like that?

junoParticipantUhh, I don’t frequent these forums much anymore but I’m unfamiliar with the term "Earth" or "Earthing". I had alot of popping & cracking when I first got my monitors too. You definetly need a new soundcard. The audiophile mentioned above by Mike would definetly fit your needs. I personally use the Audiophile 192 & have had no problems with it other than getting accustomed to how everything should be routed.

Static equals bad earth and you need to check your systems earthing problem. No earth equals probs galore.
