We're currently in talks with a company who provide mobile phone interaction between business, that's us and consumers, that's you guys!

The plan is to hold regular 'TXT 2 WIN' style competitions whereby you can enter if you see something you'd like to win.

You have the opportunity to win seriously good prizes and we're talking rock-solid, industry standard hardware & software for starters such as
'Allen & Heath Mixers', 'Ableton', 'Cubase SX', & 'Retail Sample cds' aswell.

If there's something that you'd like to see up for grabs which would encourage to enter please let us know.

There will be a setup fee & ongoing monthly cost to us for this service from this supplier which we would easily hope to recoup
fairly early on. So long as the interest from you guys is there and we get good volumes entering these competitions we don't see an issue.

At this stage we would forsee a minimum cost per entry of somewhere around the *$4 to $4.50 mark - this is purely because
certain carriers in certain countries have minimum charge restrictions. We also have to offset the takeup against the cost of the service aswell
as the cost to us of purchasing prizes of course.

So quite simply, we need to have YOUR feedback on this.
Please vote and reply back to this post if you so wish
with any comments.

Who knows, this could be the start of the revoultion in ACAPELLAS4U offering much more mobile phone
interaction in the future.

Many thanks in advance.

p.s Did you see how happy that dude is at the top? Could be you after being told you've just won the TXT 2 WIN competition!

*This is by no means the accurate, final figure.

Looks like he had a beating with a one armed barbie doll.

I wouldnt vote and i cant see many others either. You see whether me you or anybody else like it or not, almost all media software are available via that something we cant talk about. Hardware cant be gotten that way tho. Even so i wouldnt take my chances on a lottery. Sorry.

I voted no because I never "TXT2WIN" anything, it always turns out to be a waste of funds for consumer & business.

I say funds that would have been used for this by the business would be better of being used in something like a Quick Chat function Smilie_PDT

And comparing these results (so far) to the Quick Chat poll then I'd say most people would agree...

I'm a little dissapointed to say the least at your comments but thanks for the reality check! The bottom line is that I'm saddened to see you wouldn't consider taking part. I thought that as the majority of members here are a core slice of mobile phone users I was simply trying to offer a new way for members to interact using newer technology and in doing so stand a really good chance of winning extremely good prizes.

I don't know why I got this so wrong, I put my hands up and say I perhaps overlooked this one. I thought everyone TXT'd nowadays.

I wouldn't take this personally acapella, I don't know what the situation is with things like this in other countries, but I know in UK there's recently been a few scam "competitions" with big names TV channels both including texting & calling & I think that may have knocked people's confidence in these things. I, for one, never really trusted them in the 1st place & those incidents re-instated my reasons for lack of trust in them.

Blame the media, that's what I say!

Don't worry Sean, I'm not but I hope you're not putting ACAPELLAS4U in the same boat as the "Blue Peter/Richard & Judy & GMtv" crew? hehe

And to comment on the point about software someone made, personally I don't care where you get your software from and whether you own it legally, that's not really something I'd have owned up to, software & sample cd's were just ideas for prizes.

It's still beyond me really why you can't see that entering a regular mobile phone competition via ACAPELLAS4U to win hundreds of pounds/dollars worth of gear isn't a great offer?? Why would we screw anyone over and you know ACAPELLAS4U as an establishment has always more than looked after it's members. Bit of a knife in the back feeling we're getting here folks.

Perhaps we should just offer shitty ringtones or semi-p*rn pictures at $10 a shot - would that make you get your mobile into action?

Nah don't worry, not putting them in te same boat, but others might. I didn't ever TXT2WIN or anything similar, not even before all that nonsense with those TV Channels.

I think people need some kind of reassurance that this won't be a scam. Maybe host just one, if people enter, get the winner to write a testimonial or something, send in a pic with their gift, something along those lines.

I'd say it's worth a shot on a trial basis, bit I can't see this taking off.

Hi, new boy here so go easy on me...

I voted no because as with most other competitions of this type i can't justify the £1.50 - £3 it would cost to enter, knowing i am not exactly the luckiest person in the world!

My mum was a competition fanatic for years, she would only enter the free weekly competitions in her womens weekly mags but she one once in 7 years of trying!

As it happens it was a pair of cinema tickets to go see "hot shots part two" before it's official release date... showing my age now Rolling Eyes

For me personally i am not overly concerned about it being a scam so it's nothing personal towards this website. I don't bet on horses, play the lottery or enter competitions at all really. That is just down to the cost of entering and my perceived chances of winning.

I like contests and all, but as a college freshman, I don't even pay my own phone bill (insert ridicule here. I know it's lame) and I don't want my parents cutting me off because I paid an extra dollar to vote for this or that tv show or even to try to win some software. Sorry...

i was a no, not out a lack of trust but i am just one of the unluckiest guys when it comes to this so it would be a waste of my credit. But if there was a definite cool prize on offer i might throw caution to the wind......who knows
