I've searched a time or two for a Green Day acapella. If I'm not mistaking, I think there are some DIY pellas Green Day floating around.
Unfortunately, alternative / metal / etc. pellas aren't as common as hip-hop / rnb / dance. I guess its because djing, spinning, and remixing is more common in hiphop than in alternative. You may want to hit up TIMG; he has a Vocal Extraction service that he offers to the members here and from judging his sample clip on this site, he's pretty damn good.
