I sampled a Reggae track for this tune then chopped it up and reordered it all.
The drums are a mixture of a roll and individual hits chopped from the track and re-arranged.
The horns are all part of the original track that I sampled and then cut up to the stab you hear throughout the track. I used the pitch bend automation in Reason to give the 2 pitches of horn you hear in the track.
In regards "that ragga sound" I would suggest looking for drum hits that are "rattley" (for want of a better term) - generally a bit more low-fi sounding and then play around with levels of reverb for the "echo-chamber" feel to them.
Other effects that I use in the track are mainly based around filter frequency variation (low pass).
The final mix of this track is under way so I'll re-post the link when it is tweeqed with
Cheers for the feedback.

I really should finish the mix down of this track. I've just been busy doing other things.
This will be the next thing I do after I have finished remastering my mash ups.
Thanks for the feedback and words of appreciation.

| Yeah yeah yeah! Missed this earlier. It's phat. It's like dubstep except too much dubstep is either cheesy synths or ends up putting you to sleep. This is niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, son. |
