28 years... As I have said I'm an lod school Dj. I actually still have the Fatback Bands albulm with King Tim III for thoes of you that know your history. Mint condiction too.
Tips.... I will give you the best tip of all... Just love what you do and the rest will follow.
ive been djing for bout year and a hlaf now but only took it serious in the past year. ive already played in clubs like so i feel like i am learning quickly. tips i have although i am not too experienced would be the same as what people have said....practise.
it is good to know your tunes but not essential if you get into the rythm and feel it then it flow, keep going even if u mess up keep going. lose yourself in the music, sounds strange but i djd in a club before and i went into a zone, like trance state of mind i was just lost haha, i wasnt thinking of n e thing but the music and atmoshphere i was going wild just mixing tune after tune dancing about and wasnt paying attention to anything but the music, then wen i looked up the dancefloor was rocking! gotta say in the short time ive been djing that was a fantastic moment. you gotta be passionate about what you do, mix music you love and want people to hear, dont be swayed by other people, do what you like. make your own techniques of mixing dont follow , if music and djing is your passion it will come! right sorry people essay over
since 98 i suppose... 10 years, wow.
Had a few stints on radio after i won a dj comp. But never saw out my desire to dj in clubs, and then lost that desire
But outdoor festivals... that would be rad. And i might go back to radio, it's fun to share the love.
DONT BE AFRAID TO HEAR BOOOOOO
(THIS IS GONNA HAPPEN AT LEAST ONCE IN YOU LIFE)
BE A PEOPLE PERSON
KNOW YOUR GENRE OF MUSIC
DONT BE A BEDROOM DJ FOR YEARS THINKING YOU HAVE TO PRACTICE FOREVER, THE BEST WAY TO LEARN (OR THE WAY I DID) WAS TOSS YOURSELF INTO THE FIRE OF A HOT PARTY, YOU WILL LEARN SO MUCH THAT WAY
Been djing since i was 16 with cd players saved up my money got my turntables at 17 i just turned 21 so ive been djing for like 4 1/2 years and i learn something new everyday Djing has been the best thing to ever happen to me
