Almost 3 Years now. Made some pretty ladies break their high heel shoes several times lol. Just love the power to be crowned with headphones give us. Started with Traktor 2.0 on my home computer and now moved up to an Acer Aspire 3690 running Traktor 3.2 with a Roland DJ-1000 attached to it, several times played regular decks but i get much more pro sound with soft, i admit it, i'm a cheater.

Piece of advice. PRACTICE! people can give you tips but nothing's better than countless hours mixing.

PEACE!!!

28yrs... I know... my grey hair speaks for themselves. Advice? Hmmm... know your equiptment(and a general setup) and how to troubleshoot(groundloop, surge protection, etc), before calling yourself a DJ(you would be suprised of how may cats I've ran across... that didn't know how to hook their own equiptment up or could determine what they needed to work a gig). Develope your voice... voice projection is a lost art. Have an understanding of sound dynamics(speaker placement and room dynamics).
Being cheap doesn't mean being smart... expect to invest into your art.

About 2 years... practice till your ears bleed.

And at live shows [especially] if you trainwreck a transition, don't curse or grimace, just play it cool because odds are: no one else noticed.

I've been doing it for 11 months, and as a newbie in one of the most time and cash-consuming hobbies, I have to say that to be a good DJ one should work with decks, with software, with keyboards, with microphones, and whatever instruments one can play. Djing is blending music, so ALL music fiddling helps the DJ. produce, play, mix. that's how you improve.

Ive had decks for about 2 and a half years. Been dj-ing in clubs every single weekend for a year now. Sometimes 3-4 bookings a night!!!

Been producing for about 6 months properly, had a few releases aswell so 2007 has been a very good year for my dj-ing.

Also signed to 3 different record labels so all good!!!
