Hi There,

am i the only one at the moment, that recognizes, that house music is more and more dissappearing...not in the meaning of not heard anymore but nowadays i have problems differing the styles...it seems techno, trance and house has become one....

well..there was a time when people weren't caught up with the genre and it was all just electronic music. I can remember when 135 bpm breaks was called jungle, and house was just....house. none of this deep, techy, jackin, jazzy, funky, bs.

Just shows how the music scene is changing all the time...

When i started thinking about Dj'ing / Producing i found it hard to find my own style i always thought house was s**t before i realised its part of the whole "Dance" scene....

I've found this the complete opposite here in Sydney. I started off (and still enjoy) pretty commercial trance, now it seems the majority of club goers prefer House music. Seems that even those who never used to enjoy any subgenre of 'Dance' are getting into House.

Here in South Africa the house scene has grown very big in the last 2 years. It was mainly hip hop and hardhouse/trance over here.

Now the trance/hardhouse scene has died down.

Old Skool is the bomb.

testdummy just a quick reminder, we're not a music sharing site excepte for members own tracks.
Please feel free to check out the House Section in the Test Pressing forum, there asre some great house tracks in there that our members have produced.

No you're not: Cheesy Grin
I'm feeling a bit miffed with not only house music but the whole dance music scene at the moment.
I used to be able to beat match like a beast on vinyl, but now with the CDJs and PCs that talent has been made reduntant; also it is near damn impossible to get out there as a new DJ; i am only 16 and it's so hard to get a set anywhere; 'specially since my record shop shut recently Crying or Very Sad

Bring back the "2000" days, with vinyl, record shops and disco house!Smilie_PDT

Yeah...

It has somewhat "Disappeared" throughout the years. I love Deep House, and having a hard time finding anything new.

Just as any other creative form, music goes in cycles. Since the mid eighties house music has branched into many forms. Techno for one started in the late eighties as a different expression of house music but remained an underground movement up until recently where it finally received the attention of mass audiences. Trance started in the early nineties and finally received its stamp of approval by the masses nearly ten years later once it had evolved into a more pop packaged form. House music is the main root of today's electronic dance music and as such is here to stay. It metamorphoses itself into new sub genres all the time but it's influence can be heard in all its different outfits. House music is a mature sound and because it emcompasses so many musical influences it requires some sort of understanding of music along with a solid musical education. If you know how to listen you will hear everywhere in todays electronic music.
