| CD or vinyl record? I always recommend buying good equipments which will last u longer and save money in a long run. from my previous experience of using CD deck, i recommend Pioneer just because its the standard set either at home or a club. Technics 1200 series are the way to go for vinyl manipulation. |

| I think beginners should use the variety of computer DJing computer programs available before purchasing a real turntable. I learned alot from these programs and some of them were free. |

| I agree with that at all.. I did it the same way... You should first practise with software before buying some expensive Hardware:) |

yea but hey...for a DJ who doesnt have any money in his pockets from gigs because hes just starting, 1200's are expensive man...do like i did get some stantons (t.80 or t.120) and vestax pmc 05...(easy to use) and then when you've got it downpacked and youve made some money from gigs...then you can move on to some 1210's and RANE mixer =] |

if you can afford it, i would go with 1200's....
as far as a cd turntable, i personally like the numark cdx, because it acts, sounds and feels like a real vinyl turntable, so you can scratch and do alot of effects that you can't do on a regular turntable. plus, u can use the acapellas that you get from this site |

| i learnt to mix with someone elses 1210's and also denon dns1000's i now own 1210's and haven't looked back but yet to strewtch for a cdj would probably go for a cdj800 or denon dns3500/5000 and mixer wise im using behringer djx700 best bang for buck for a home setup imo but won't put up with much punishment so you have to be a bit gentle with it |
