Topic speaks for itself, only of late have I stumbled into this wonderful, wonderful package which until late I must be honest I didn;t really shake a stick at.. and I’m not afraid to own up to being a little stuck in me ways re tools of choice … (reasonhead)

Yes I do use softsynths, atmosphere, rgc audioz 3ta & mainly V-Station.

I’m just trying it our right now – re-installing req’d (did a complete new build over the weekend) it really is time consuming.. but it’s paying off..

Only so long you can go b4 reinstalling – and I was on the same build since Mar03 so I can’t complain.. win2k > sp4

I get to that stage absoultely fine and still it wont let me press the record button – I spent 10 mins trying different methods ..

any ideas cj ?

I have a confession to make, well two actually.

Firstly. The version is 4.0 and not 4.1 (as strangely stated by moi in the original subject)

Secondly. After having read further afield and sat through some online video tuition material I think this particular (borrowed eval.) version install is missing the VMR (Virtual Midi router) application which I think is significant to the whole problem.

I mean I’m sure as eggs is eggs that I managed or saw the Record light become active at some stage and then it just went again… and no I wasn;t stoned or trippin’.

[b:1v72afj8]And after all that, the best way to record any midi in Acid is to Rewire Reason to it (as I sometimes do) and you have all the midi you want.!!! It actually gives you more versatility that way, anyway!

To be honest I’ve only ever used the material already written in Reason and then recorded it into LiVE.

I didn’t realise that I could select a VSTi in LiVE and trigger it through Reason…. never thought of that.

Anyways – I did look at this yesterday opening up Reason after AciD. No way in the worl however I set it up, that I could record midi from Reason into a midi track playing a vsti within Acid..

ACiD IS the only tool for me atm with which I stand any chance of using VSTi within my tracks. I don’t have a stable enough pc for the Cubases neither is my kowledge up to scratch yet.. so until then it’s a case of making do with what I have, which is Reason, ACiD & Live.

Any other ideas/alternatives for Mr Acapella to try/investigate ?
