Hi plattitude. Sorry I've only just read this post. When are you going to be in London?
What type of clubs are you looking to go to. If I get a chance I'll do a couple of searches for you. |

Hey!!
I did a London trip a year ago and focussed on Reggae...
Easiest to find and with the latest Dancehall & Bashment stuff has to be DubVendor. They have 2 stores; Clapham & Ladbroke Grove. (dubvendor.co.uk)
Head to Soho for a stack of shops on (and just off) Berwick Street including Reckless Records (http://www.reckless.co.uk/shop.aspx) and SoulJazz. **edit. SoulJazz's record store is actually called Sounds of the Universe, it's on Broadwick St, just of Berwick St., Soho http://www.soundsoftheuniverse.com
Definitely hit Camden for some 2nd hand bargains. Get off the underground and turn right up the high street towards the market.
Try Soul Brother in Putney to find some soul gems (http://www.soulbrother.com), Peckings in Shepherds Bush if you're after StudioOne stuff. There has to be some Reggae shops in Brixton but I couldn't find them, it was getting dark and I didn't hang around or stray too far from the bussle of the town centre
There are LOTS of Record Shops in London, and London is a big place.
You'll find many more on the web (e.g. http://www.reggaenews.co.uk/record_shops/record_shops.asp) and whilst your pounding the pavements.
Write down all the names and addresses of shops you wanna visit and plan at least a full day trip on a street map before heading out with your underground day-travel ticket in hand. E.g. Dub Vendor in Ladbroke Grove is near Notting Hill and there are more shops in Notting Hill. Dub Vendor in Clapham & Soul Brother in Putney are kind of out on there own do go, but only if you have time. IMO Soho & Camden seem to have the most shops within closest distance from each other.
Have fun & happy hunting

No worries plattitude. Hope I can get some similar help from these forums one day, when I get the chance to travel to a new place. I love to record shop when I'm away from home.
