Beastie Boys VS Eazy E - Oh Word(Sting Remix)Hey guys
![]() Here's my contest entry finally!! I've been really busy but I got this done tonight finally!! Samples Used: Beastie Boys - Oh Word(Acapella) Eazy E - Boyz In Da Hood(Instrumental) Various Sound FX Various Vocal/Sound Beds & Samples I actually had alot of fun with this, and I added a really trippy intro as well haha!! This beat is from the 80's...hence the 80's are the reason for todays schools!! haha! ![]() This beat goes really well with the pella in my mind, that echo gives it an 80's type sound to it, so this beat just blended beautifully. I had to cut the beat up major to mould it to the unique song structure of this track...but I think all in all it turned out okay! ![]() ![]() It's like 4am here...so I'm heading to bed now. Drop me feedback on this one, as I really wanna know what you guys think!!! Good luck to the rest of you...this was a HARD pella on lexus part...so it's gonna be interestin to see what everyone comes up with!! Peace DJ Sting ![]()

definantly hard.. definantly hard....
the 8 bars of rapping.. 4 bars for "oh word" and then another 8 is an f'ed up style so i had to chop it up as we say. Samples: "Get em High"- Kanye West "Throw ya hood up"- Lil Jon feat. Pastor Troy, Bun B Beat -" Yeah": Lil Jon, Ludacris, Usher hope ya like it... i cant see how this song would be anything but a party song.. that why i got the Yeah beat... cuz it doesnt cut it for a regular rap lyricwise. But i did gain something from this experiance... i now know im not the whitest rapper ever... "SHOOBOOBYDEEOOOOO" B-rap
This is my remix, i went with the New York theme.

Thatz true man. Thnx! @ B-Rap:: am a not worthy of it? lol Peace.
Thanks mann, i appreciate it. I think the intro ruined it for me
I voted for the 69 mix (Plattitude) because the beatses were original, and they rocked the electro front hard. I dig that electronic style.
The rest were pretty damn good too, but some of y'alls intros are getting out of hand. 30 seconds is a bit long for an intro in a 5 min song... わたし は コンピューター です、ぼくの 愛
i agree^ my favourite was blow, thought his timing was on point and his choice of vocal samples related well to the pella. ![]()
k, I'ma bit in the dark. Why partron got all these votes? Your mix was good and cut a whole lot but imo it wasn't the best mix and for these other peeps to not have barely any votes straight robbery....what really goin on?
sting ya got my vote homie
Ay I got a vote....lol

Wooo this was a tough one. Everyone did a great job on this pella and it has made it difficult to choose. I had to listen to some of the mixes more than once to come up with a choice.
My vote goes to Plattitude. I appreciated the originality and I could see myself dancing real closely with my lady friends in a club to this one. I like what is being created in his lab. Dj Sting you are my second choice you always come up with some creative tracks man. Good luck to those lucky few who make it to the next round. You're gonna need it.
Mr. C.
look like prequel, patron and sting gonna take this. Good mixes from y'all.
P.S. Don't think I was dissin ya patron cause I think you had a very good mix in fact it just when I seen the #'s and heard bout ya pm'ing people to get extra votes I was kinda pissed at the moment a bit. It's all good though man.
its good to clear that up bro, i pm;d u bro.
Good to see someone's feelin it... maybe next time we'll get a song where the "rappers" (if you can call them that) can do a proper verse ;) B-rap
Thanks bro... I apreciate that!!! keep em coming... safe...

I'm somewhat of a musician so the start of this one threw me off as the vocal hooks are off key. An enjoyable listen overall! A good effort, probably appeals more to the Hiphop DJ crowd than the average listener. Brapko YEAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWY! - Lil John, "Usher - Yeah" An interesting choice of instrumentals! I think the vocals could stand a pinch more volume and the parts where you drop the beat don't sound like they they are 100% on time. On the other hand, the little "tryin' to catch the beat" (Kanye? I've heard it, can't remember who it is) fits super nicely! A well done mix, though not my favourite of the batch. DJ Prequel FANTASTIC instrumental! Love that s**t. I have been bumpin' this in my car for a few days and will continue to do so. Small complaint, just as the previous mix(es), vocals could be louder. It sounds like the verse at 1:33 is off beat, quite a bit. Overall lack of hi-end EQ on this joint. Still love the beat, and the mix is pretty good! Blow Wicked! I was really this one at the start, but found it got real repetitive towards the end. Not enough switchin' it up beat wise to keep my interest peaked. And the "New York, New York" sample sounded like it was distorting. No doubt a well done mix and worthy of recognition for that! I really like how you removed all those silly whoa-bott sounds! Can't stand those silly things! ... undetermined at this point, but you may get my vote JUST for that alone! Best use of pella award for sure.
Plattitude First of all, you know I'm giving props to a fellow beat maker! I think the beat is pretty damn fine, but could perhaps use a switch up in terms of the bass synth. It tendy to really just get all lost and mushy when combined with everything else. Overall I thought the beat was solid, but not necessarily a good match for this particular acapella. The beat seems to beg for a vocal hook with a decent melody, the Beasties on top of it just sounded... like Beasties thrown on top of a random beat. I give you props for the custom beat, but I don't think it's enough to win this particular group! A good mix, well done technically, just perhaps not the winner.
DJ 44 Magnum Definitely will get votes from the "underground" or true "hiphop" crew. Well done! I found that as with the Blow mix, the beat, although varied from time to time really started to get old, fast. Still a real solid mix, but suffered some technical issues at points as well. For instance, what happened at 1:57? Just doesn't kick back in quite on time there. Still dig it, but not quite enough to get my vote!
DJ Patron This radio ad / remix intro was ridiculous. It really was. Totally lost it right there. You actually did a bang up job on the intro, but I got like 16 mixes to get through listening in order to make some decent voting decisions. The intro, although well done, was a real time waster for me! Wicked scratching skills are evident throughout, kept me interested. I like it, minus the intro.
DJ Brady Something happend here... I'd like to hear a version that didn't have these quality issues, I might actually enjoy it! As is, unlistenable. Neat concept, need a version with the levels under control to really put comments on it. DJ Sting This radio ad / remix intro was ridiculous. It really was. Totally lost it right there. You actually did a bang up job on the intro, but I got like 16 mixes to get through listening in order to make some decent voting decisions. The intro, although well done, was a real time waster for me! (note, intentional copy & paste) Too bad, would have gotten my vote if it wasn't for the silly intro! Really good beat on this one.
SUMMARY None of these truly screamed fantastic to me, except for Prequel's, however that beat just looped and looped, eventually drove me insane (could be over-listening on my part, regardless, I am now less sane). My vote goes to BLOW who actually did some quality work with the pella' to chop out what I would call the "annoying" bits. Nice work all of y'az!

Ayo, it wasnt my intention to throw That intro in. I actually had about 4 mixes that had the exact same name, and the one i had planned to upload did not even have an intro, i decided to scratch the whole intro idea. But after uploading, the rules clearly state that once you have uploaded it you cannot change it or update it. So i guess it sux to have realized that damn intro was still in the song. Im glad you liked it though, minus theintro. I got sick of the intro the first 5 minutes i was working onit. lol
WHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT???!?!?!?! OOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. yEAH.
