fearsonnyParticipantHey all! I am pretty good at matching up bpm to an acapella for remixing purposes, but i can NOT seem to get it right with Imogen Heap’s-Hide and Seek…Its as if there is no consistant bpm for this track!
but alas, i stumbled upon R3volve’s-Hide and Seek, Lost and Found mix… I brought both into mixmeister bpm analyzer and the original is elegedly set at 118 bpm whereas R3volve’s is at 128… i tried both and countless other techniques to try to remedy this issue, but have been very unsuccessful! I am currently attempting to accomplish this in fruityloops, but that may be where i am going wrong perhaps…..? if any one has any suggestions i would really appreciate it!Thanks!

jeremypwrsParticipantHey, I saw your post, I’ve been analyzing many remixes of this song. The only solution I’m seeming to find is to sample the song into many segments and then paste them in as close to exact timing as possible. So you kind of have to reproduce the acapella. Even the remix you listed by R3volve has points where the samples start to get off beat. But editing the acapella or the original to better fit the bpm I think is the best bet. Hope that helps… 🙂

aldaParticipanttotally!
I’ve been using hours today, trying to find what tempo she sings in:P
As far as I’ve figured out, she uses three different BPMs. One in the beginning, one in the chorus type thing, and one in the outtro.
Look for the rock remix of hide and seek on youtube. It is seriously awesome, and I’d love hearing it with a proper band.AdSense 336x280November 28, 2009 at 7:28 am #674571
ajtmexParticipantYea, her BPM’s are inconsistent in this song because there’s no heartbeat (Percussion). You would have to take it segment by segment.
If you listen to Optik’s remix here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rLp-_yBGWg
He reconstructed the pella by chopping it and stretching and compressing some sections so it flows evenly. So you might have to reconstruct it the way he did.
This is also my favorite remix by the way.

RyujiParticipantidd, this song is kinda the exception. It has no beat, but the tips given are good so follow them and good luck.

TheCH4FParticipantWe can’t just adjust the acapella in a regular tempo?

hansausbremenParticipantNo, the song tempo changes so picking one tempo would only work for one part and not the whole song.
Therefore you have to readjust the timing to a fixed tempo you wish to come out with.AdSense 336x280May 4, 2013 at 6:32 pm #698378
ombudsmanParticipantmaybe a good opportunity to get creative with chopping up the vocals, stretching as needed, and rebuilding phrases in whatever tempo you want to work in!
