yo u have to rewire reason into what ever daw u are u sing since reason is the slave u have to set the tempo in the master which would be ur daw i think u said u use recycle so it would be that after u tell the daw the tempo to play at when u hit play in ur daw reason will follow that speed and sync it self wit the daw also if ur pella has slight changes and u have set the tempo up for the slight changes in those certian spots then reason will follow all the changes also any more questions just post again but for now im out like water!

I found the best way to do it is use a program like acid(soundtrack of you're a mac user) and find it's tempo by just laying a beat behind it and adjusting the tempo 'til the beat and the acapella are in sync (usually samples loaded into acid that are large, like acapellas, don't get tempo synced like acid loops thus allowing you to change the tempo of the beat and not the acapella). Every time you adjust the tempo you're going to have to line up the beginning of where the vocals are on the acapella (zoom in and eye it). In areas where they don't line up(This is a common problem with acapellas because a lot of them are recorded from home record players with inconsistent RPM) I just chop the sample and move it into place(The Square peg CAN fit in the round hole. The cool thing about this is when you're done you know the exact tempo(because you made it that way) of the sample. You can then load it again into a program like acid to adjust the tempo(because REX doesn't let you actually adjust the tempo of the sample but rather where the sections start playing) After that, then you load it into Recycle and set your node points, making sure to line them up with the start of each phrase( or word if you're super anal) and you can use reason's quantize to fix minor tempo issues.

I hope this is some help, from one Reason user to another.

Arrow Up Yo! I produce with Reason 3.0 But this will apply to all versions of reason...First of all find out the bpm's of pella, If you are gonna speed up the bpm's I suggest Time Compressing the pella in sound forge (this will allow you to set an accurate bpm count) After the beat is produced or at least the drum track is finished do the following. I suggest Chopping up pella example 1st verse, Chorus, 2nd Verse....and so on or use the complete file (make sure the pella is a .wav or .aiff file) then load each or whole file using a REDRUM (I suggest the 3rd bank on REDRUM cause you can use the start and legnth dials for truncation. then using midi keyboard record track and punch in during record. if it is a little off don't worry you can always go back and adjust the start location in the sequencer edit mode. I hope this was helpful for you good luck!!! You can here my examples of mash up's on this link. Eddie Chill Posadas aka voodooman
