VoicedudeParticipantCan someone give me a quick rundown of Acid 4.0? (Just a brief, Acid For Dummies capsulization) You see, I’m on a Mac and use ProTools almost exclusively. I’ve got a few other toys that do stuff and outside, non-digital equipment and effects, but I’m really not familiar with PC programs.
But I guess I got lucky. I won Acid 4.0 in a contest and I’m looking forward to loading onto my laptop (which I ONLY bought to run PCDJ on!) I hear so much about Acid on the sites but again, not owning a PC……
Despite my choice of Avatar, I’m not an idiot. I can figure out a lot on my own. I’ve used many other programs before like ProTools, Digital Performer, Groove Maker, Cool Edit (not Pro), and plug-ins like VocAlign. But like many of us, I HATE reading instructions. I find them often confusing anyway. I just wanna jump in and get to the creative stuff and use the manual only when I hit a snag. Is that so wrong?
Again, I implore my mixologist brothahs out there: help me out. Just give me a few ‘this button does this does this, that button does that, if you put A with B and hit this button you’ll get C’ type pointers to get started. Hell, I’ll even do the same for you if you want to learn ProTools (there is a free download for PCs, y’know!)
I haven’t loaded it in yet & I’m really looking forward to bustin’ it wide open. Does Acid 4.0 have beatmapping (or does the ‘included’ Sound Forge’)? Does beatmapping do what I THINK it does? I’ve been doing all that BY HAND for so long; I could use a break….
Thanx in advance for all your help.
