Just started using ableton and have no idea what I'm doing, but things usually end up sounding great... it's amazingly simple to use i'd recomend everyone at least try it out.

I have used it before, i find it have a lot of useful features but if you take a song more than 3 or 4 bpm away from its original it tends to get choppy. But i have to say that it is a very very useful program, especially for remixing

I've been using Ableton for just over a year. I find it a great package and very flexible too.
I have a few mixes on my website done using Ableton:

Ableton is very underrated as a production tool. I'm surprised how few people know about it.

Hey Guys!
I'm new here, and after reading over several pages here, I have to say I'm quite impressed with the participation. I used to be very active in another forum a while back, and I think that a place like this is something I can really get into.

As far as Ableton, two of the clubs in the city I spin at have added laptops to their set up. It seems like everywhere I go I see more and more places using programs like Ableton and Serato. I'm pretty old school considering I mostly play vinyl with the occasional CD. I really want to get into Ableton because I really want to start some production stuff. How long did it to take you guys to get used to it? And for all you computer Dj's, how do you maintain crowd interaction when you play? I don't think I would be able to do it looking at the screen all the time.

I first got into Ableton because I was looking for something that I'd enjoy doing drum programming and other backing track building in, and have only recently started applying what I learned in about a year of doing that to doing DJ stuff. It's been fun!

Get a MIDI controller or two and set them up in such a way that you don't need to stare at the laptop screen anymore than you'd be staring at turntables + mixer while doing CD/vinyl DJ'ing.

At least, that's what I'd recommend.
