if you use virtual dj, you can loop it, and keep adjusting the bpm until it loops perfectly

if you use frooty loops and got the slicer loaded you can easily import an mp3 or wave into it and detect the bpm note on the right bar inside the slicer

For you Ableton users out there, Live has a neat tempo tap function buiilt in, as well a pretty damn accurate automatic BPM detection. For complex vocals I tend to play it in my favourite audio player (not in Live), get a feel for the rhythm, and then tap it in Ableton Live to get the rough BPM. Usually it will fall close to a whole number and that will most likely be the correct BPM.
Peace, Nik.

I'm not going to use it (at all), but are there really any good bpm-counters out there? Like precise ones?
