As clearly illustrated in the above picture, my studio consists of
1) A computer not really set up to be doing audio at all
2) A midi controller (keyboard) I pretty much never use (which is why I think I should buy another one)
3) A pair of home stereo speakers
5) A dj controller (which I, again, almost never use)
5) Lots of mess and clutter (this part is very important)

I wish I had more hardware but I'm a firm believer in having a Midi controller keyboard and a computer can still produce some great stuff

Just a keyboard, a mouse, and a desktop computer.

Some would probably look down upon it, but considering I don't make any money from my musical endeavors I don't see it as being that bad of a thing (for the time being).

(Also, I'd add a picture but it'd be the most boring gosh-darn picture in the world, and I'm also too lazy to clean my desk right now.) Boy, do I sound like a motivated individual.

I have a PC - with Ableton Live and Reason running

good headphones: beyerdynamic dt250

As input devices I have:
an electronic piano - with a full keyboard
a vestax vcm-600
a novation launchpad

thats it. Thats all I need and probably ever have. It works great - I can manipulate sounds live and stop and start clips at the same time. I only had the vestax at first but starting clips was a bummer on that device so i got the launchpad.

thanks, top monitor is for my xbox and i have a switch mounted under my desk if i want to do dual monitors from my computer, but right now i dont have a video card supporting multiple outputs

clearybuzz wrote:yeah vertical dual monitors would be wierd for me... feel like you are in the first row of the movie theatre.

nah its not bad at all, i have it angled down slightly and pushed back a little so i barely have to glance up to see the entire screen, imo its better than having to look left/right because that strains your eyes after a while and with my monitors being widescreen, i'd have to physically turn my head to see the entire screen
