i have Adobe Audition (CEP 2.0) but havent ever used it much. Dont want to get u down but I dont know many ppl that make beats in that app.
U need something that supports midi, vst(i) and/or dx(i) plugins, & has a good sequencer. If u feel comfortable w/ Cool Edit then you can still use that as your sequencer - its good for sequencing, editing & adding FX. Fruity Loops seems to be the most popular program for learning how to make instrumentals. U should be able to find a demo easily on the web.
U want to know how to lay down beats & instruments in software apps? Thats a long tutorial that u could probably find with Google. If not, post some more questions |

DUDU-DUDU-DUDU-DUDU
1234-1234-1234-1234
This is basic 4/4 - this means there are four beats every measure and the quarter note gets the beat (so there are four quarter notes each measure then the loop repeats itself) - each D is a downbeat where a kick usually hits, the U is an upbeat where a snare usually hits. Beats can be extremely more complex than this but once you xperiment with the basics and listen you'll figure out what ppl are talking about & find how to lay drums to make patterns u here in songs. Its hard to make a good tutorial on the fly for this - it would probably be just as hard for u to understand as what you've read in other forums. |
