Just made that acapella from the original track only, I've uploaded it in the database system but I ain't sure it'll be taken. I would give that pella 3/5 for the quality
I used a combination of methods..., used sound forge 8.0
I tried first cancelation of the phase. I knew phase inverting of the beat then paste over the whole track works because I tried it with some sh*tz recorded here and it worked just fine (both ways i.e. from beat to pella and from pella to beat), But between the good old Applause Riddim and Sean Paul's temperature track, there has been a lot of processing. that's why, even if the tempo of the pella is mapped identicaly to the original, and fit perfectly to it (which is not "human possible", I think...) there'll be eq, echo, reverb, compressor, name it... effects that alter the phase cancelation... You can do that ishh! if you possess the master versions of both the beat and the original... in that case it would make a perfect pella or a perfect beat (if you use this technique wif the pella I mean)...
SOUNDFORGE8.0 (works with 7.0)
My second try was with the knockout method... it worked soso...
Make 2 copy of the exaact same file (the original, best quality possible, if you get some 320 kbps, or better (uncompressed wav) it may be easier to extract
1st I,ve put a Process\Channel Converter\vocal cut effect which cutted the vocals automaticaly... by magic I guess left me a solo line of bass (quality very low) in both channels
2nd Ive Process\invert-flip which is a phase inversion (invert the poor solo bass line)
3rd mix that line over the unaltered file timing has to be perfect, you do not have to make adjustment on timing, but you got to adjust volume so the part you substract is optimally removed
4th here comes the knockout plugin... http://www.freewebs.com/st3pan0va/ you have to adjust it to keep the most quality of acapella while cutting most of the ambiant... that may be the longest step, be logical in your adjustment... you may also take some brakes while playing the preview while adjusting because the ear becomes acustommed to the unperfection at long
i dont think its usable fam, the vocals and the beat are still somewhat at the same level. it sounds like those under water sounding diys, keep tryin tho, id really like this acapella.
