Hey folks,

i'm kinda new to acapella making, and i really read nearly every thread in this forum.

I tired bfm's "Soundforge method" which can be found here: http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=11716

But instead of the vocals, i got the "almost" instrumental. Almost means that you can hear the vocals a bit, but they are really silent.

Now i thought "Hey, you got the instru version, lets try TiMG's "THE PHASE CANCELLATION METHOD"

Like i said, i'm new to this, i read the instructions, but i dont get it. Inverting and lining the two tracks works, but what to do then?

It would be really kind from you guys if you could lend me a helping hand, or kinda explain the process step by step. Thanks

BTW: the track is "Franz Ferdinand - Do You Want To"

[EDIT]:
Ok, as i said i flipped the instrumental, they are already lined (same length/pitch) Now i copied the flipped instru, opened the original Track, and did: paste special/Mix. Well, nothing happened (the frequency of the track just changed a bit).

I also tested bfm's method with a few tracks now, i only get instrumentals... or totally messed up mixes of both acapella and instrus.

Still in need of a bit help, if you know what i'm doin wrong, please write back. I'm pretty pressured in getting this pella, thank you.

Well, sounds like you have everything correct... EXCEPT, you have to have the *exact* instrumental for the song you're trying to make acapella. Keep in mind that not only does it have to be the exact same with what you hear, but also with what you see in it's frequencies. if you scroll in close to the sound waves of your song or instrumental in a digital audio editing program (audobe audition, sound forge, etc), do you see the little squiggly lines? Well those lines (frequencies) have to be the *EXACT* same as your other song file. That way, when you invert one and mix them over eachother, the instrumental cancels eachother out and leaves only the vocals... so, yeah. lol
