So I have Adobe Audition 1.5 and I have an EXACT vocal and instrumental version of this Thrillseekers song. I put the vocal mix at track 1 and the instrumental at track 2. I line them up so everything lines up. I edit the waveform of the instrumental and invert it. I play them both on top of each other... no difference. I don't know what I'm doing wrong Sad

prob no quite lined up.. or the instumental version was mastered funny to prevent inversion..

try using cubase instead.. you can zoom right in and make sure ur lined up

Yes well... I don't h ave CuBase. You can also zoom right in with Audition and I'm really close to where you can see the individual curves on the waveform... at least there should be some notice... I can tell it's changed slightly. Everyone seems to prefer Audition, so I thought that'd be the best way.

the song and the instru ver prob aren't the same speed/pitch/length..

the best you can do is resample to get them to fit.. or constantly cut-move-crossfade one so that they stay in line

But if I follow the two wave lengths while being zoomed all the way in, they're perfectly in line.... *cries* this isn't fair!

I think that my issue is it's simply not inverting. Here is the way the wave forms look like before and after inverting... not a change. I don't see that one is opposite from the other.

Okay, I think I got the instrumental inverted right... there is still a mild difference. They looked lined up to me.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

bottom one looks right.. sometimes it doesn't quite work tho and i can't explain why i'm afriad.. u could try eqing more bass on one and seeing wot happens.. the low freqs are the easiest to phase out successfully
