Competition closed! - Read on for results! (admin)

I (Playmaker) am looking for a new funky - fresh "Playmaker" logo for my website, releases, and for all promotional material.

I've teamed up with ACAPELLAS4U to arrange that the winner is given 100 (1 hundred) bonus download credits as a prize. Also a special mention (with link to the winning design) on my website. Of course you will see your handywork on all forthcoming 12". Smilie_PDT

The closing date of this competition is the 16th of Feb 2005 - so that gives you exactly a month. JPG format for the preview is fine, however, the winning logo provider will be expected to provide the fantastic artwork in .eps format along with the required size dimensions when requested.

The Competition will be judged by yours truly and Martin at M7 Managment.

One final note, if for some reason the winner fails to provide all of this within the said timescale then another entrant will be picked..

50 of the 100 pella downloads will be given once the winner's been chosen and the other 50 will be issued upon receipt of the artwork.

So hurry up guys and good luck!!

Don't hesitate to PM me if you have any questions!
/chris - playmaker

Here's the logo that first popped into my head along with some variations: (btw, I'm not sure what house-ish looks like).

(the "P" and "M" form to make the symbol)

four15 Thank you for your contribution! Smilie_PDT This looks promising!
The winner will be contacted on Monday the 20th of February.

...About that "house-ish" I wrote, that was maybe a strange explanation, but I guess you can tell if someone does hard-rock or electronic music by only looking at their logo, right? Smilie_PDT

Oh by the way, what's your current logo? Is it the one in your Avatar? Do you have an idea of the style your looking for? Is there a limit to the number of ideas we can enter?

Crin> Wicked, looking forward to see what u come up with! Smilie_PDT

About current logo, I don't have one, the one on the avatar is one of the record companies I release stuff on.
It's hard to say exactly what style I wan, but a clean, up to date´( ? ) one,
and maybe reflects something about what I do, but I know it's hard..!

And it's no limit how many ideas you have really,
well say a 100 would be too much ! ;)

Good luck! Smilie_PDT

I took my first idea and simplified it to be more of a "logo" instead of a design. (btw, It doesn't have to be black):

-- If you don't understand the logo, I'll explain... If you tilt your head to the left (as if trying to read "muzik"), the left black bar and the upper curve form to make a 'P'. If you tilt your head to the right (as if trying to read "playmaker"), the two curves and the short black bar to your upper left form to make an 'm'. --

Ok....

I've done a bit of work on this, it's all in vector format like you asked and I can make any changes or tweaks that you'd like doing easily enough and repost. The first image is my brainstorm and then some colour tests on the ones I feel work the best.

Let me know what you think.

here's my entry, it's rough at the moment, if your not interested no point doing to much eh? the idea behind it is simple. music is played on vinyl=vinyl is played on slipmat's=slipmat's are used by playmaker... the colour is mono for now and can be changed to whatever as it's an eps as required.

and just so you can see what it looks like on a deck (just for a laugh like)

Smilie_PDT

love the new look of the site pilch, far better than I could have done Embarassed

First of all, im amazed how creative you people are! Smilie_PDT
I feel it's really gonna be hard to pick a winner when the competition is over.

wilde-uk, love the slipmat idea! Smilie_PDT

crin, I really like the first one on the colortest,
the one with play ontop of maker!!

You both are more than welcome to do even more alternatives on the same ideas there!! That goes to everyone of course. Smilie_PDT

Great job!

Chris
