acapella
[quote quote="lee spoons":2jhd314s]I’d be happy to help with this – we have a bpm/key database over at GYBO which myself and ToToM have been trying to update regularly (hoping to get other trusted members to add to it too):
http://www.gybo5.com/bpm-key-search
It’s not perfect (doesn’t take into account major or minor chords) but it’s very useful.
I have loads of acapellas I need to add – I have the BPMs from Acid, just need to work out the key (I find this useful – )
Mixed In Key is a good tool, but not always 100% accurate and no substitute for ears

Thanks Lee for your kind offer. I’d of course love to have any help as nobody’s coming forward (same as usual) to really help with this. Some times even I get p*ssed off with all the ‘take, take, take & no give’ attitude from a fair percentage of regular members here so it would be nice to have some assistance for sure.
Any new development’s got to be really carefully thought through and brainstormed bigtime. To most, it would probably seem like an easy thing to do but when it comes to me, I like:
1. as much automation as possible,
2. simple feasible time factors to administrate on a refular basis,
3. functionality that satisfies the brief/request
4. I’d be looking for 90% key success at least for the entire collection [where applicable]
I did take a quick look on gybo and judging by forum posts, it’s early days right? there wasn’t the masses of content I was expecting.
So, how can you see this working here, cus you know what we got and how it looks.
Thanks,
acapella.
p.s If anyone’s lurking reading this post and would really like to help then you don’t have to reply in public, just drop me a PM (private message) and let me know you’re a sad ol’ b*stard who likes nothing more than to categorize and index massive acapella collections with key info. in their spare time
