To be honest with you, vista and xp are almost the same except for the desktop in vista and registry. Other than that, it's pretty much the same.

I run Acid 6.0 on vista with no problems, but it is true that xp will be better and more solid for a variety of older and even newer DAW's. If you can downgrade to xp , than do so. Vista was not accepted warmly from lots of people, but I personally did not have any major problem with vista.

XP pro is solid and downgrade is must for some audio applications.
Vista will catch up althought I doubt it will raise to the same XP level. it will be replaced by the newer OS.

Vista (for me) is more stable than XP. Yes its a memory hog but memory is dirt cheap these days.

I think the way Vista handles errors (drivers especially) is superior to XP.

I've been using Vista for just under a year and have never seen it crash.

I use vista on my laptop for almost a year now and NEVER ever had any problem with that. The only sh*t I had with my computer came from a hardware stuff.

My brother has xp on his desk PC and always has problems with his computer...

That's why I don't always understand the s**t every one talk about vista, I use it and this work pretty well !
