Personnally Vinyl wont be seen in clubs in another year...
im all CDJ...
i was lookin at going into vinyl for samples and thigns like that..
but with how good the 1000's were working im just getting me a pair of them...
Vinyl is nice, But CDJ's are fair more versatile...

yeah answer= Records/Cd's...

techs' mk2 1200 with serato... I love vinyl even if it's digital now, you still got the same feel but without carrying all those crates of records. Check out my mixxes..

I use Serato, records are way too heavy.

I still use Vinyl, but am in the process of switching to CD. Not a fan of laptop.

I have a weekly 2hr slot plus other club work. At my weekly slot I normally play vinyl to cd, but other clubs i normally am all cd due to there been no turntables in the clubs any moor.

I've gone from 12s, to CDs, to timecode. It's all about luggage. I hated carrying 3-4 bags of records all over the place. I still have a few thousand vinyls, but they stay at home. I don't by much anymore, and if I do, I convert it.

In Holland it's very common to use CD's.

Because our sets consist of almost exclusively our/others producers dub-plates I rock serato now...In no way is this one of those "it aint djing if you dont rock techs/funk cd's" rants. In fact i KNOW that if your talking bout consistency or true perfect pitch (no drift) mixes cdj's are superior by far. My problem was and still is that ive played records for a decade the 1st time i touched cdj's i felt as though i never had mixed and i was re-learning something ive known how to do for almost half my life. my point is that if i started djing today i would undoubtedly go the cdj route but @ this point in my life being a touring dj to realearn the trade seems silly.

I use CDJ 1000's exclusively. I take them where-ever I play. Learnt on vinyl but it's just so inflexible compared to CDs, you have to wait ages for new songs, with CDs I can get tracks the day I hear them and play them out that night.

Also most of my mailing lists only send CDs only...

I saw a bit on tv not too long ago where they were saying that vinyl is almost outselling cds and that does not even take into account the smaller dj type record shops etc. Digital still wins out over all which is the way I have gone. there is just way too much music out there to try and keep up with purchasing hard copies. Of course I still do when its not available digitally or i need a pella thats only on vinyl etc. I have found that a lot of the time digital downloads actually come with more bonuses but it seems to vary pretty greatly from label to label release to release etc
