We've started taking a serious look through the music uploaded within our 'Test Pressings' sections.
Every month we plan to Showcase members' tracks across the range of genre's that have been uploaded using our File Attachments feature.
So, what exactly are we looking for in your track?:
1 Is it in time?
2 Is it in key?
3 Are the levels where they should be?
These are the basic things we're looking for. Anything additional ranging from strong melodies and chord progressions to noted mastery of digital sounds (glitching for example) all add to this too
If your track is chosen, it will then be added to Acapellas4U's very own 'Mp3 Player' which will be showcasing all of the other top tracks from the other genres.
Also, as if showcasing your track here at Acapellas4U wasn't cool enough, in the New Year your track will also be aired on our MySpace page aswell which is currently having an overhaul for '08 so watch this space.
Your tracks will gain loads of exposure as a result!! which isn't every producer/masher-upper after?
We will pay more attention to tracks that are uploaded using our File Attachment feature and also Authors (that's you guys) who label their own productions carefully. Say some A&R bod listens to it and theres no contact info.? See where we're coming from?
There are lots of these tools out there and one such tool is an mp3Tag manager Acapellas4U recommends, it's called Multi ID3 Tag Editor
Download: Here | Screenshots: Available here
Good luck to everyone.
p.s If you'd like to hear the current month's selections just click animated image at the top middle of the site. |

question: why are tracks uploaded using your "attachment" feature a lot more opt to be nominated? isn't there like a 10 MB limit on that? and i can' even see how the site personally gets exposure by adding files that way, or how it benefits the site. I understand that space is an issue, and everyone seems to respect the 10 MB so why put the focus on uploads if it is limited? doesn't that restrict creativity and exposure? i guess i don't see the importance of using your attachment to upload a file over like rapidshare. as long as the file gets the listener, the method has done it's job.
thanks! |

Simply because of these reasons freezegelman
- music uplaoded using our File Attachments feature never gets deleted. Unless I'm careless enough to do such a thing and I haven't yet.
- It's easier for us to click one link to download than to go off-site clicking/finding links (often dead/inacurate links) - Would be good if the File Attachment feature allowed a stream of mp3 attachments though - that would be good
- Using the File Attachment allows members to see how many times their music is downloaded
There are more reasons why we adopt this method for now and I realise the 10MB stranglehold is limiting and isn't really up to the times as far as other free storage areas are concerned. We cannot upgrade our existing box anymore either. So we might look to buy a 'file-hosting' in the future - watch this space. Same was as you are entitled to use ImageShack for image hosting within forum threads - be cool if it was OUR site not anything 3rd party.
basically whilst you are here, we wanna keep you locked in here and not going elsewhere to host your files Is that greedy?
Regards,
acapella |

| I uploaded 10 tracks today and totally forgot the ID3 tags on them, (totally careless I know), but the labels are correct. A few days ago, I uploaded 4 tracks with proper ID3 tags. Does this mean that not even one of those 10 tracks I uploaded today have a chance of getting picked out? |

| Hey. I just added a link to my track using my own web site storage. I figured y'all would rather those who could use their own space to do so. I would like to switch now and use yours because that is what you are looking for. Would this be considered "bumping" my track up on the test pressing forum or would it be considered doing the right thing? I notice that I have had 100+ downloads and zero feedback, maybe its because I should have used your upload method instead? (I live in a cultural desert and could really use some feedback) Should I just let that track disapear and upload a different one the way you want? Thanks, I am really loving this site!!! |

How do I add an attachment?
You can add attachments when you post a new post. You should see a Add an Attachment form below the main posting box. When you click the Browse... button the standard Open dialogue window for your computer will open. Browse to the file you want to attach, select it and click OK, Open or doubleclick according to your liking and/or the correct procedure for your computer. If you choose to add a comment in the File Comment field this comment will be used as a link to the attached file. If you haven't added a comment the filename itself will be used to link to the attachment. If the board administrator has allowed it you will be able to upload multiple attachements by following the same procedure as described above until you reach the max allowed number of attachments for each post.
The board administrator sets an upper limit for filesize, defined file extensions and other things for attachments on the board. Be aware that it's your responsiblity that your attachments comply with the boards acceptance of use policy, and that they may be deleted without warning.
Please note that the boards owner, webmaster, administrator or moderators can not and will not take responsibility for any loss of data. |
Maybe I'm just tired right now, but I've followed the above instructions the best I could and all I keep getting is:
No post mode specified
What am I doing wrong?

Hey Voicedude. Adding an attachment to a new post is easy. You do the exact same thing except scroll down to the 'Add an Attachement' area and browse for your file. Can you tell us step by step what you are doing before that 'No post mode specified' error comes up |
