do you think it would be a good idea to, if you have created an effect on LIVE which you are particularly proud of, or that replicates the effect ina song, that you could post up the .als file and we could download them?
its just ive been looking to create some of Radioheads effects using LIVE and although I've been a little successful, maybe someone else got there before me? any info would be great! |

delkin.
this topic isn't too dissimilar from what I was getting at a week or so ago - in that I was asking if there were any GRM Tools users' around.
I was gonna ask if users had created some funky presets within the plugin and if they felt like sharing them with us all here. No one really uses it though so I scraped the idea for a while.... until know.
I'd be more than happy to accomodate an area within the site for something such as this. Could make it nice and straight forward (for a change) by letting registered members upload their plugin presets with a short description.
You mentioned .als files, that's more native to LiVE as a song file overall if I'm not mistaken (stand corrected if I'm wrong though) - If we're talkin about plugin presets then are we talkin' .fxp files - I thought those were Preset files, or is that within other plugins ??
Can someone enlighten me please ?

yea that sounds like a great idea! id love to take part, I created a keyboard effect for The Pyramid Song so far, and this is something you cant find on the internet and I'm sure there are alot of people in the same position.
it would be great for me to avail of other peoples skill and vice-versa so i'll keep this topic monitored for furthur news.
cheers.
i said .als files because I just use LiVE for monitoring instruments through it and I dont actually use the recording or looping parts at all. so the .als files will load up effect presets fine, for me anyways. |

wait, i just realised. presumming everyone is using different instruments (say Keyboards like me), all the prefaced settings on the keyboard itself will sound different, even if they are both the same effect (i.e. trumpet)
do you know what I mean?
maybe including the model number of the keyboard or instrument would help and including the voice used on the keyboard itself would be required.
any more thoughts? |

Right.
I see exactly what you mean but I misunderstood and assumed (like me) you meant presets for a software setup only.
The scale of things would be too large to cover external hardware I feel.
I was thinking more along the lines of name of plugin and custome preset (all within software only).
Still interested ? |

| exactly, they are great, and everyone would benefit. when i said LiVE it was just coz i dont have Reason but if a effect template section was set up im sure it would accomadate all programs |

Ok guys - like the ideas flowing here - however we'd all have to be clear on what would be best - plugin presets i.e small fxp files or reason templates .rns files
thanks for your input - keep it coming. |

Absolutely delkin.
If you would like to be the 1st person here to get the ball rollin' by perhaps zipping up some of your LiVE presets and letting me know where I can d/l them from then I'll put the file up here so everybody can grab it.
Let me know the link via a PM - and we'll go from there. Also be sure to inform me as to which version of LiVE you're using, plugin name & your chosen 'custom' preset names aswell.
Thanks. |

Just a heads-up to say that Abletons' Factory Plugin Presets are within your
(your drive letter):\Program Files\Ableton\Live (version goes here)\Resources\Factory Presets folder
The files are suffixed .adv
I hope this helps everyone dig them out a little easier. Those are just the default presets. We would like to start sharing members' own presets.
