Competition Rules
1. This is a one shot winner takes all competition. There are no rounds.
2. You must use a minimum of two different video sources to implement in your mash-up video. Since an audio mash-up takes music and vocals from multiple sources the video should follow the same idea.
3. You must embed our Acapellas4U TV logo(see image below) to the bottom left corner of your video.
4. We will not accept anyone using an entire artists' video over a mix. There is no creativity in this.
5. Anyone using another video mash-up artists' work as their own will be disqualified from the competition and banned from the site.
6. You have two weeks to create and hand in your video. The deadline is at 12:00 am GMT April 30th. There will be no extensions. If you miss the deadline then you are out of luck.
7. If you have already made some mash-up videos before we prefer that you do not use them for this competition. This is a competition and it is supposed to be challenging after all.
Turning In Your Video
1. All videos must be titled as (Member Name)Comp Video. For example: The Cutter Comp Video.
2. In order to utilize the Youtube modification that we have implemented for the site and to make viewing the videos simple for voting. We prefer all entrants to use a Youtube account to host their competition videos. If there are any issues with Youtube deleting member videos during the competition we will deal with this on a case by case basis. If anyone who has entered does not want to risk using Youtube to host their videos we understand fully. So we ask that you use a video host that we can....
1. Link to directly.
2. Does not require you to register to the site in order to view the video.
3. Does not require you to download the video
4. Will allow you to view the video directly within a video player using only one step to get to the video. No one wants to have to shuffle their way through multiple links in order to view your video.
3. Due to the recent issue of Youtube cracking down on mash-up videos we ask that if you do use Youtube that you....
1. Do not tag the video with the artists names.
2. If possible try not to use videos with MTV or VH1 watermarks. Viacom may find the videos and claim them as their property and have Youtube remove them.
4. When you have completed your video please use the groups list below in order to see who to turn your video link into via PM. Do not post your video on the site during the competiton or you will be disqualified.
5. When you send your video link please give the title of your mash-up video and the artists' names/songs used. If you use another artists' audio mash-up give the name of the perosn who created it as well.

just to let u know... youtube.com is removing any copyrighted vids.. so i dont think its wise to have them upload it there... they will be removed within 48hrs.

We heard you the first time MM but if you take a look around YT you will see tons of copyrighted material still on there that hasn't been removed for a long time. But we have been discussing this issue for awhile and we will post our solution when we have decided what to do.

| Question: I started working on a mashup video when this contest was announced, but before the rules were drawn up. Now that I have seen the rules, what I created is compatible with all of them except that I already finished the video (and I'd have to add in the acapellas4u logo). Is it fair for me to submit this mash video? |

| Question 2: Multiply.com makes you register to download anything or listen to audio, but it doesn't currently require registration to view videos (I can give a link and the video will appear streaming in a multiply.com flash player, no login needed). Is this an appropriate video host? |

The reason behind the prefrence of not having entrants use videos they have done before and therefor having released them to public is so that we can get new videos out there that haven't already been viewed by everyone. So since it seems you started this video for the competiton I do not see why it would be a problem for you to submit it. So yes go ahead and submit it.
Hopefully you haven't released it for the world to see yet and you will be making your world debut for the competition.

As long as the video host used follows these requirements you are good to go. So if multiply continues to let you view videos without registering/signing in to view during the comp it's fine.

Sorry sign up is closed and the competition is underway so we are no longer accepting entrants. There will be other competitions in the future.
