| I've tried a hand full of different programs for PC but I always get the same "washy" results. Is there anything out there for Mac, thats free, that I could use to get better and clearer acapellas? |

| Try converting the acapella to 24 bit @ 44,100KHz, stereo.wav & then apply your equalisation/effects etc. Ofcourse you must be sure that the program and/or soundcard you're using can process 24 bit sampling |

| What exactly are you doing? Cleaning up existing pellas or creating your own? coz it could quite easily be an issue with your technique as opposed to the software itself |

no offence but imo there's absolutely no reason to convert any lower material into 24bit.
The resolution in which the applied plugins work is up to the supplied rate of the host/plugins and not to the rate of the used audio-material.
in opposite, you'll get errors from requantization that can result in hearable artefacts especially when you apply more requantizations later (i.e. if your host works in 32bit, you'll bounce for mastering to 24bit and finally dither to 16bit for CD use).
but i don't really get the original question of the thread though.. |
